I Guess i'll be the first to write something on this page then!!
Firstly i would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me so far, i know it sounds a bit cliche but it means so much more to me than anyone can believe. I really am a normal bloke just the same as everyone else and to be given a chance to do something i love is a dream that i hope will continue for a long time to come.
Also lots of love to my family and friends who have all been there for me throughout all the tough times, i hope one day i will be able to pay you all back for everything you have done for me!!!
One last thing!!! A huge thank you to Ron Keeley for putting this website together!! You are a genius to put this together so quickly and i'm truly thankful. I hope many people get to see how talented you are!!!
Thank you and lots of love
Daryl

I have enjoyed watching your performances so far. Your voice reminds me alot of Burton Cummings from Canada. He has had alot of hits, and I would highly recommend checking out some of his songs on youtube in making any future song choices. Lenny Kravitz did one of his songs "American Woman" and if you are looking for something up tempo, that would KILL.
Not sure if you will get a chance to read this before you have to make your next song choice, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

All the best,

Sye

What lovely comments to Daryl, thank you from my heart it means so much to him.
He will certainly listen to your ideas for cover songs.
I remember buying some Burton Cummings albums when in Miami in 1980.
He used to be with Guess Who of course.
I agree he has a great voice.
Ihope one day Daryl will record The Way It Is by Bruce Hornsby and The Range as we once went together to see him at the Hammersmith Odeon (Now The Apollo).
Never thinking that one day Daryl would be on the same stage singing Red by Daniel Merriweather.
I hope he records that one also.

I would llike to thank the lovely comments from you all. I hoped you enjoyed my Bootcamp performance and i would also just like to say that i take on board and listen to anybody who says things that they think may be of positive use for me such as song recommendations. I will listen to Burton Cummings and any other musicians that people think that i can learn from. I want to do things and sing songs that make other people happy not just myself.
I am new to all of this but i can assure you all that i will do my best to keep in touch with all of you as much as i can all the time.
I am appearing on GMTV monday morning so hopefully you'll be able to see me then.
Lots of love to you all and take care
Daryl x

Yes Paul, I did know that Burton used to be with the Guess Who. I did not want to get too in depth, cause I did not know how well he was known in the UK. You see, I live in Canada, and only found Daryl through YouTube :-) Isn't it great how the internet shrinks the world :-) (And I find the voice resemblance to Burton uncanny).

Daryl my man, all the best, and thanks for your response. Perhaps I can repay the favour for the enjoyment I have received from your singing if you have the time to visit my website (through my profile :-)

Cheers,

Sye

Hi Daryl As we all know this is sometimes a very cruel world.
It was an incredible feat to reach as far as you did on the X Factor 2009.
My heart hurts so much for you and your disappointment at not going throough to the last 24 acts.
It is easy to say never mind as we all mind, but I am sure that when you are a big star you will look back at these days and maybe be glad this happened.
Get into the studion Daryl and get some more tracks laid and get those lyrics finished so that all the millions of people out there in the World who love to hear your voice can.
This is only the start of your road up to fame.

Hi Daryl,
I just wanted to tell you that all the expats here in Portugal thought that you were fantastic and should have made the final 24.

Don't give up, you have a great voice and come across as a really lovely genuine person.

Keep your website going and keep adding your news. Make that album and let us all know when it will be released. We are all behind you.

Hello! I had a nice poignant message penned but then I accidentally clicked away from the site and lost it all.

It's too late and I'm too tired to try to recreate it, so for now, I'll just say that I think you are an amazing human being and that you have a beautiful voice.

Please do not apologize for not making it further in the competition. To make it as far as you did is an amazing accomplishment - and a testament to your skill and inherent "X-factor" (which you do have, by the way!!! Sorry, I know you're married!).

Plus, you got loads of coverage which can't be said for a rather large number of people who made it to the Top 50.

And, to top it all off, you made your nephew proud and gave him a once-in-a lifetime experience that I'm sure is helping him get through his grief (and yours as well).

I'd say all-in-all, from an outsider's perspective, it seems like it was a rather good experience!!!! And no apologies are necessary!

You seem to be a special person...someone who was put on earth to remind the rest of us what it really means to be "good".

Final note..not sure how old this site is, but I just found it today. Maybe you can beef up the use of key words to yield more search results???/ Would love to see you continue getting favorable attention!

Hey Daryl.

I'm so sorry you did not go further in X Factor. I could hardly breathe, and was about to cry when I discovered that they did not send you further. X Factor have missed a super star. I really hope that there are others who have eyes for you. It would be fantastic if you could record a CD. It is the first time I'm on www.darylmarkham.org and it is super though we can hear "I Do not Want to Talk About It" in its full length. I just enjoy your voice so much. We have previously written a little together on Facebook, but I would just send you a message through here. Very much luck in the future.

Hugs and kisses from Susanne - Denmark

Daryl, I am wrting from Ont Canada. There are some people who make an impression within the most sacred part of the heart and you are such a person. Your integrity, selfless love, your desire to use your special gift to tell the world about your brother and your knowing what it truly means to give unconditional love to your brother through stepping in for his son makes you the kind of person we all should strive to be more like. I said a prayer for you for all your deepest heart desires and dreams to be fulfilled and may you know the love you have shown the world be returned to you. I can't wait to have your first CD but more than that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me strive to be the best kind of person I can be to serve others.

I am writing to you from miramar florida i happen to see a comment that a friend wrote about your performance and decided to check it out. I understand where you are coming from losing a brother i lost my brother to alcoholism on jan 7, 2008. i can sympathize with you. your performance touched my heart more than words can say. i cried when i watched you perform on the x factor. your nephew is a darling i just thank god he has you to look after him i have a 9 year old grandson and his biological father was murdered. he has since been adopted by my daughters husband whom he calls dad. both of us have had tradegy in our lives and made a positive out of a negative situation. i wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

hi darl, i am writing from Nairobi, Kenya (africa)i will never forget the first time i saw this on 25th oct 2010 (on my 22nd birtday). i have never seen something so emotional i couldn't help it but to cry all through the perfomance, it was mind blowing. i lost my dad at the age of 12 and i could understand how the kid felt, having someone like you by him is a gift from God. I shared this clip with some of my friends here in africa and they loved it. God bless you, you are an inspiration to anyone who has watched you across the world
